UnionSecure Overview

UnionSecure develops supplemental insurance programs that are dedicated to meeting the unique needs of union members and their families. These programs include:

• Life insurance
• Accident insurance
• Disability insurance
• Hospital/at-home recovery insurance

By using the collective consumer strength of more than 13 million members of unions affiliated with the AFL-CIO, UnionSecure can offer insurance protection at a fair price to help working families protect their financial security.

UnionSecure is jointly staffed by Union Privilege and the Union Labor Life Insurance Company (ULLICO), which are both union-organized and have long histories of serving union members and the labor movement. ULLICO's main insurance subsidiary, the Union Labor Life Insurance Company, was founded in 1925. Union Privilege provides the Union Plus benefits to union families and has offered life insurance since 1987.

The trustees of the AFL-CIO Mutual Benefit Fund provide long-term direction and oversight for the UnionSecure insurance program. The Fund - whose trustees are all former union officials who provide their services on an unpaid voluntary basis - has the legal responsibility of protecting members' interests.

All UnionSecure parties have carefully researched the insurance programs offered to union members and continue to monitor the plans to ensure union members have access to the insurance and best customer service they deserve.
